The GX280 metal lathe has automatic longitudinal and transverse feed, and is also characterized by high quality workmanship. The headstock has a spindle speed selection box, which allows you to change the rotation speed of the lathe chuck without loss of torque. There is also a lead screw feed speed change box, which allows you to cut threads without changing gears in the guitar. This machine can cut metric, inch, modular and pitch threads. The machine is equipped with a 1100 watt electric motor with a single-phase (220V) connection. An option with a 380V 3-phase motor is possible. The bed is hardened and precision ground.

GX280S is a tabletop screw-cutting lathe with a maximum processing diameter over the bed of 280 mm and a center distance of 500 mm, which is designed for working with workpieces made of steel, cast iron and non-ferrous alloys, etc.
Using this model, you can easily carry out precise processing due to automatic longitudinal and transverse feeds, as well as cut metric and inch threads. The feed speed and thread pitch are adjusted using handwheels according to the information in the tables located on the device panel.
Attention! When switching from cutting metric threads to inch threads, it is necessary to replace one gear in the guitar. Additional gears for cutting all non-metric threads are purchased separately, as a set.
An asynchronous motor is installed in the headstock, which transmits torque to the workpiece through a 3-jaw lathe chuck. Its rotation speed is adjustable in the range of 90-1800 rpm through an 8-speed gearbox, built on the basis of wear-resistant metal gears. For processing long workpieces, the spindle has a through hole with a diameter of 38 mm.
Attention! 3-jaw chucks are typically used for clamping round, triangular and hexagonal workpieces. To fix square-shaped workpieces, you must use a chuck with 4 jaws.
At the other end of the bed there is a supporting tailstock. It, like the longitudinal support, moves along V-shaped and flat ground guides. All moving parts of the machine are equipped with grease fittings.
Up to 4 cutters can be installed in the tool holder at the same time, which greatly facilitates and speeds up the work process. For the convenience of cutting cones, the machine provides rotation of the upper longitudinal slide in the range of 0-45°.
Due to the massive cast iron frame, the machine has a rigid structure and low vibration levels. Power supply is supplied from a single-phase alternating current network with a voltage of 220 V and a frequency of 50 Hz. It is also possible to order this machine for 380 V.
Despite its relatively compact size, the GX280S model has the layout of classic machines, so it easily provides high-quality processing.
